New Delhi - Canada's former Secretary of State (Asia
Pacific) David Kilgour has shown concern over the killing of Falun Gong
prisoners in China
for the purpose of organ harvesting. In the past few years the business of
organ harvesting has been booming in China, but from where have these
Organs been harvested such that they can be sold in markets? Behind this there
is said to be a secret political controversy.
David Kilgour, along with Canada's well known human rights activist David
Matas has prepared a report which states that there have been around 41,500
cases of Organ Harvesting in China
in the past 5 years. There were no provisions made for donation of organs in China. In
addition to that, the organs have not been taken from those people who have
lost their lives in calamities. David Kilgour stated the question then "From
where have these organs been harvested?” And why don’t the Chinese hospitals
keep any records of these so called Organ Donors? The Chinese government has
already accepted the fact that it uses the organs of those prisoners who are
sentenced to death, but the numbers don’t match. The question remains, where
did these organs come from? Their allegation states that there is a lot of
evidence which states that Falun Gong prisoners have been killed for this
purpose.
The Hindi publication of the
report would also be out in few days. In a special meet with David Kilgour who had
come down to India with
regard to the publication of the Hindi version of the report, he stated that he
had taken up the issue with the authorities of the "World Transplantation
Society" in the presence of China's Premier Wen Jiabao. The
conclusion being that the buyers were amongst the affluent people of America, Taiwan,
Canada, Korea and Japan
who have not been able to acquire organs anywhere else in world are able to
acquire the organs of a live person within a week’s time in China.
Falun Gong has spread in a
miraculous way in 78 countries across the world. The number of people taking up
to this practice in India
is also increasing steadily. Falun Gong is a spiritual practice of Chinese
origin. It has the spiritual teachings from the Buddha school as well as the
Tao school incorporated in it. The practice was initially introduced in the
year 1992 and had 70 million practitioners within the year 1999. This number was greater than the number of
members of Chinese Communist Party. This
was a cause of worry for the then president of the CCP, Jiang Zemen who imposed
a ban on the practice.
David Kilgour justifies that
he is essentially has nothing against the Chinese but he cannot close his eyes
to the violence that is happening in China. He further states that when
his report was presented in Ottawa (Canada) , the Chinese officials just stated
that "The issues that were taken up by the report were against
China", but the Chinese authorities till today have not come back with any
answers with regard to the issues that were taken up by the report.
