Canadians Lead in Investigation of Organ Harvesting from Falun Gong Prisoners of Conscience in China

Kilgour on tour to present report at European Parliament and in Berlin, London and Washington, D.C.

Brussels – Hon. David Kilgour, former Secretary of State (Asia-Pacific) of Canada, on Wednesday made a presentation to the Delegation of the European Parliament to China in Brussels on the investigation report into organ harvesting from Falun Gong prisoners of conscience in China co-authored by Mr. Kilgour himself and Mr. David Matas, international human rights lawyer from Winnipeg, Canada.

Mr. Kilgour and Mr. Matas’s independent report found that vital organs are being seized from detained Falun Gong practitioners across China. At the same time, a Vice-President of the European Parliament, the Hon. Edward McMillan-Scott, reported on his organ harvesting fact-finding trip to China in May 2006.  The two reports on the organ harvesting issue complement each other.

Today, Mr. Kilgour, joined by Mr. McMillan-Scott, appeared at a press conference in Brussels to further detail their investigation on the crime of organ harvesting occurring in Communist China.

Mr. Kilgour will be presenting the report in Berlin, London and Washington, D.C. over the next week.
