On June 10th, 2008 on Parliament Hill in Ottawa the Canadian Coalition for Democracies (CCD) held a Symposium of international China experts. In the second session of the day Senator Consiglio Di Nino, Chair of the Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs, discussed Canada, China and the 2008 Olympics and former Secretary of State ( Asia Pacific ), David Kilgour, discussed China's role in Sudan, Taiwan, Burma, North Korea, and Iran.

In the fourth session of the day Clive Ansley (Lawyer, Human Rights Campaigner) discussed his experiences in China. Cindy Gu (Publisher, Epoch Times) China and the Chinese Media in Canada and John Robson (columnist with the Ottawa Citizen) discussed the moral challenge of dealing with China.
